Elmendorf – October 10th 2009

2009 Elmendorf Arctic Bazaar, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Elmendorf AFB, Boniface Parkway and Glenn Highway. This 24th annual bazaar is a free event open to the public. Enter at the Post Road gate with a photo ID. This is the perfect opportunity to find your Alaska treasure. The many handmade Alaska items that can be found include ulu knives, soaps, pottery, artwork, salmon salsa, reindeer sausage, jewelry, hand made ornaments and a host of fun family activities. Open to the public. 

Elizabeth Ann Seaton – October 17th 2009

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton's Annual Bazaar, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, 2901 E. Huffman Road. This year's bazaar has a bake sale and displays the work of approximately 50 vendors. The bazaar features high quality items made by St. Elizabeth's Magi Group including Halloween witches, pumpkins, Thanksgiving turkeys, Santas, hand-knitted sweaters, hats, scarves, quilted and stuffed rabbits, hand-painted wooden reindeer, casserole covers, table runners, quilted tree banners, Christmas stockings, unique hanging banners with four interchangeable seasonal decorations, Eskimo felt ornaments, baked goods and jams and many other items. Guest vendors will sell jewelry, holiday decorations, agate night-lights, paintings, photos, books, ornaments, rosaries, place mats, table runners, crocheted rugs, handmade greeting cards, tote bags and many other items. Satisfy your appetite for breakfast and lunch at Saint Elizabeth's kitchen. The popular homemade cinnamon and caramel rolls are back again this year. Homemade chili and hot dogs will be available for lunch. 

City Church – November 7th 2009

Alaskan Christmas Bazaar at Anchorage City Church, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday, 1301 W. 100th Ave. The seventh annual event features more than 80 vendors selling unique and hard-to-find gifts, crafts and decorations. A delicious food court, gourmet espresso stand, large silent auction tables, and live music make this the perfect place to begin the holiday season. Known as the most beautiful Christmas bazaar in Alaska, you will not want to miss it.

South High – November 14th 2009

Christmas Towne Bazaar, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday, South Anchorage High School, 13400 Elmore Road. This 32nd annual juried craft bazaar boasts more than 120 booths of handcrafted items, perfect for holiday gift giving. Look for paper crafts, photography, quilted and sewn items, art, clothing, decor, jewelry, pottery, glass, wood crafts, knitted/felted items, books written by local authors and kids activities. Visit our popular Cookie Caper as well as other local food booths. Enjoy the harmonious sounds of area music programs while shopping for that one-of-a-kind gift. Sponsored by Rabbit Creek Community Association, benefitting programs for students at Rabbit Creek Elementary School, Rabbit Creek Preschool and South Anchorage High School. Easy access from Huffman and DeArmoun roads to Elmore Road; follow signs. Ample free parking.

Colony High School – November 28th 2009

The Colony High Christmas Bazaar is a tradition that offers a fundraiser for students participating in extended educational opportunities. It was created by Mary Sue Backus and has supported students participating in Science Olympiad and ELP Extensions, as well as the Washington, D.C. Close-Up program. All profits from the Bazaar are distributed to CHS students using an economic model developed by Ms Backus. Students earn shares and then are paid dividends depending on share totals and the profits from the Colony High Christmas Bazaar.

Ravenwood Elementary – December 5th 2009

24th Annual Ravenwood Holiday Bazaar, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Ravenwood Elementary, 9500 Wren Circle, Eagle River. Come in and warm up at the beginning of this festive season with a visit to our annual holiday event featuring over 50 exhibitors displaying their gifts and crafts. Enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride and a visit and picture with Santa. (229-2756)
